Welsh is a new addition to Microsoft 's Local Language Programme which enables computer users to access Microsoft Windows and Office in their own language. David Pollington reports on the partnership with the Welsh Language Board to make available the new software.

Local authority websites continued to improve in 2004, according to results published in this year's Better Connected report. Nearly 30% of council websites moved up in a position in the report's four-level ranking system, the number of transactional sites rose from 23 to 38, and the bottom-rated 'promotional' websites are dying out.
